Prepare to conquer your adventure list, start with Berghaus Urban Adventure Games!
Would you like to join a different kind of athletic challenge besides running? Get ready for a new dimension in adventure racing with the Berghaus Urban Adventure Games! We were given a chance to attend the launch last October 29 and after the event, me and John became super excited as we would like to start 2015 with a bang, by joining running events and other sports activities. And now we are given a chance to join the digitalized adventure racing such as this!
Orientation of how the games will work, prepare your Android phones!
Featuring the first app-based format, teams of 3 members each will receive their challenges on their mobile phones as they race to accumulate points before the clock runs out. This is not your ordinary kind of sport activity as you will be challenged both physically and mentally to race your team to the finish line! These challenges will push the teams to their limits as you will run through various obstacles, test strength at CrossFit stations, solve riddles, puzzles, and even run around the grounds for a mobile scavenger hunt. During the launch, we get to try out some of these challenges and it was intense! You need to figure out which among them will bring your team the highest scores, so you’ll have to brainstorm, be strategic as you are racing with time too!
Some of the challenges during the dry run: #Selfie taking, Word Find, Fold-A-Tent, Riddles, and more!
I ranked 1st at the moment! But not too long, I ended up being on 2nd with 164 points!
Categories:
- Fun (Registration Fee: P2,400) – Challenges will be scored but not timed.
- Competitive (Registration Fee: P2,700) – This category will have a limited time to complete as many challenges and accumulate as many points as possible.
- Elite (Registration Fee: P3,000) – The toughest of the three, according to our interview with one of the game masters, this category might require the teams to run and transfer somewhere else, like Roxas Blvd., to be able to continue their game.
